About Us

According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, there are approximately more than 500,000 people experiencing homelessness in the United States and over 150,000 in our home state of California. Here at M.A.D.E. for Others Inc, our mission is to Make A Difference Everyday in the lives of the people we come across and to make every human being feel loved, including those who are without shelter and without the necessities (i.e., food, water, clothing) for daily living. While homelessness is a larger systemic issue, there are small things we have started doing at M.A.D.E. for Others Inc, like delivering homeless kits and joining forces with local Special Education programs in Orange County!

One of our main goals is to provide the unhoused with food, water, clothing, showers, and other essentials for everyday life.  We believe that by helping those experiencing homelessness with their basic needs, they will be able to focus their energy and efforts on their fight against substance abuse and/or mental disorders.  In addition, we strive to build trusting relationships with the unhoused community so that they when they are ready to move to a shelter or transition to affordable housing, they have someone to turn to.  

 

One of our other goals is to support students in the local Special Education programs and provide them with meaningful job-like experiences.  Through this partnership, students participate in community service projects and practice vocational skills/daily living by assembling homeless kits and preparing hot meals. Through these types of activities, students learn many valuable skills to prepare them for life after high school, but they also learn about empathy and compassion for people experiencing homelessness. 

 

Our hope is to continue to raise money for the kits and meals in order to provide these types of experiences for students with disabilities and to meet the growing needs of those living in our community. We welcome, and very much appreciate, donations to cover the cost of our homeless kits and meals, as well as improve our ability to provide basic living assistance such as clothing, showers, and shelter. 

 

M.A.D.E. for Others Inc is a nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to working with individuals living on the streets without shelter. We are recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization and all donations made to M.A.D.E. for Others Inc are tax-deductible. Upon the receipt of a donation, we will provide you with a letter listing your donation, its value, and our tax identification number for your records, as per Tax Code requirements.  M.A.D.E. for Others Inc is a volunteer corps and does not pay its staff.
